Definition of “Private Pay” Student: The families of “Private Pay” students pay tuition to Star Academy directly and the contract for service is between Star Academy and the family. In some cases, families may receive partial reimbursement from their school district. In these cases, the contract for service remains between the family and Star Academy and they are considered "Private Pay" as well.

Definition of “Publicly Funded” Student: Publicly funded students are those students under IEP whose tuition is fully paid for by the school district.  In this case, the contract for service is between the school district and Star Academy.
