Referrals

Referrals may be made by public or private schools, pediatricians, mental health professionals, community agencies or by parents directly. The age range of children considered is 8 to 18 years. Please call (415) 456-8729 for a preliminary intake.

Tuition and Fees

Tuition for the 2008-2009 school year will be $34,000. Partial scholarships are sometimes available. Star Academy accepts students who are private paying and students with referrals and funding from public school districts unable to meet the needs of students with complex learning disabilities.

 

Fee-For-Service Programs

Multi Sensory Language Arts Tutoring

Multi-sensory language arts tutoring is offered at below market rates. Contracts are for 36 weeks of service. Families specify the number of sessions per week desired and private (one-on-one) or group sessions.

 

2008-2009 fees:

Private-30 minute sessions ($36.11 per session):

Annual cost:

1 session per week X 36 weeks =$1,300

2 sessions per week X 36 weeks = $2,600

3 sessions per week X 36 weeks = $3,900

4 sessions per week X 36 weeks = $5,200

Group 30-minute sessions:($22.22 per session)

Annual cost:

1 session per week X 36 weeks = $800

2 sessions per week x 36 weeks = $1,600

3 sessions per week X 36 weeks= $2,400

4 sessions per week X 36 weeks= $3,200

Certification

Star Academy is certified by the State Department of Education as a non-public school (NPS), and operates as a non-profit 501c organization. Star Academy is unique from most private schools in that Star Academy teachers meet California Special Education Credentialing requirements.
