The focus of our overall program is helping students build the fundamental skills they need to lead productive, gratifying lives. Experiencing daily success is central to the philosophy of Star Academy.
For over 20 years, Star’s supportive environment, together with its comprehensive, individualized curriculum, has proven effective for students with learning differences. Features of the program include:
- Use of multi-sensory teaching methods and assistive technologies
- Small class sizes (up to 12 students per homeroom class)
- An extensive staff of highly trained specialists who work with students in one-on-one and small group sessions
- A curriculum individualized to each student’s needs and strengths and based on California frameworks
- A calm and nurturing environment highly supportive of students’ academic, social and emotional growth
High School Program
Star Academy offers a fully accredited* high school program for students with learning differences and ADHD. The small nurturing program is highly structured, supportive and enriching. At Star Academy, students earn their high school diploma or letter of completion, depending on course work completed, and prepare for college, vocational interests or other worthy pursuits... Star Academy is also certified by the California Department of Education as a non-public school (NPS).
