Weekend Social Activities for High School Students
Star Academy offers weekend social actvities and outings to help foster social interactions and friendships among high school students with learning differences. (Seperate groups for middle school students are also offered on occassion). We welcome and encourage students from Bay Area schools to join these outings. All are open to the public (grades 9-12). For high school students who wish to enlarge their social community and develop new friends, this is an ideal way to meet other students in a comfortable, relaxed, natural setting. Star Academy Staff supervise these off-campus outings and help facilitate new friendships in subtle, unobtrusive ways.
Schedule of Activities for high school students:
Saturday, September 3 - hiking and picnic (10am - 2 pm)
Saturday, November 5 -
Day in SF and Pier 39 (10am - 2 pm)
Friday, December 9 - Holiday Dance (8pm-10pm)
Saturday, January 7 - Bowling in the East Bay (10am - 2 pm)
Saturday, March 3 - Dinner and movie (5pm-9pm)
Saturday, May 5 - High School Prom at Star Academy (8pm-11pm)
Cost: $20 per student per event (this covers supervision only).
Students must bring spending money for food, price of admission, etc).
Register by TUESDAY BEFORE the event.
