• Step One: Attend an Open House

  The best way to learn more about the Star experience is to attend a monthly Open House. We welcome parents and caretakers of prospective students, as well as professionals in the field of education to participate in an informational presentation and tour of the facilities and classrooms.
  

• Step Two: Complete the Application

  Our admissions process is comprehensive and involves careful consideration of each applicant's full learning and social-emotional profile. Completed applications and supporting documents are thoroughly reviewed in the order in which they are received. There are no application deadlines, but classes do fill up, so we recommend applying in January or February for the Fall.

   

  Space permitting, will consider students for current year placement. However, it is recommended that you contact the Admissions Director to inquire about classroom openings prior to completing an application.

   

  All required documents, along with the $150 application fee, must be submitted for an application to be considered complete and ready for review.

• Step Three: Student Visits

  After the initial application review, if your student appears to be a fit for our program, they will be invited to shadow in one of our classrooms for two days. We make every effort to provide a welcoming and engaging experience so visiting students feel comfortable and successful during their time at Star.

   

  Your child will be observed in a variety of settings throughout the day to assess their strengths, challenges, and potential fit for our program. Feedback from the teachers and specialists who observed your student is also considered in the admissions decision.

• Step Four: Admission Decision

  Given the careful attention and consideration we give to each applicant, the admissions process can take 3 to 10 weeks, depending on the time of year. Our highest volume of inquiries and applications are received between February and June, so please be aware that the process can be a bit longer. Applications received in late June or during the month of July will be held for review in August when we are back in session. 

   

  A final admissions decision will be made by the Director of Admissions and Head of School. A letter communicating the decision will be sent to prospective parents.

• Step Five: Family Decision and Deposit

  Families of accepted students have 15 days after acceptance to submit a $5,000 non-refundable deposit to secure their child’s place in the class*. Once your student is enrolled, applications for Tuition Assistance will be available to you.
