We seeking a Full-Time, High School Lead Teacher for Fall 2026. This teacher would be leading a high school class of up to 12 students with moderate learning differences. This teacher will lead academics in ELA, Science and Social Studies as well as support instruction delivered by specialists. The teaching team in this classroom includes assistant teachers and a team of specialists with expertise in Speech Pathology, Occupational Therapy, Counseling, Behavior, Assistive technology, and Transition/Living Skills.
Candidates must have the following qualifications:
Clear California Mild/Moderate Disabilities Credential required and must meet CTC requirements for working with students on the Autism Spectrum.
Undergraduate college degree.
Experience working with students with learning differences in an educational setting.
Experience with IEP documents and the IEP process
Strong classroom management skills.
Strong communication skills.
Duties of this teacher ill include but may not be limited to:
Writing evidence-based IEPs.
Participation in IEP team meetings
Supervision of Assistant Teacher regarding classroom responsibilities, student monitoring and lesson plan implementation.
Planning, preparing and delivering instructional materials that facilitate a positive and effective learning experience.
Adapting teaching methods and materials to meet varying student needs and interests.
Collaborating with specialists and other teachers to provide students with opportunities to observe, question and investigate while practicing a variety of academic and social skills.
Supervising students during snack break, recess, lunch and transitions.
Participating in full staff and team meetings.
