Zoom
Date: Tuesday, March 24 at NOON
Topic: Supporting Your Young Adult through Adolescence to Adulthood
Presenter: Alyssa DiFilippo, Parents Helping Parents
Location: ZOOM only

Transition to adulthood is a wild and wacky time. It’s overwhelming, exciting, and frustrating – all at the same time!
How can you alleviate the stress you may experience as your young adult's transition to adulthood approaches? By being an informed, active participant …

Parents Helping Parents (PHP) built an online, statewide resource and information hub, a “one-stop shop” for families, covering all aspects of transition to adulthood and adult services, called Connections California, to address this very issue.

Please join Alyssa DiFilippo, PHP's Connections California Program Manager, to learn about:
  • How to promote independence through teaching self-determination and self-advocacy skills early and often
  • How to prepare and support your youth in their transition to adulthood planning process - and participate effectively
  • Person-centered, or person-driven, thinking/planning and the power of the one-page description
  • Transition to adulthood and adult services resources - including PHP’s spring calendar of live webinars and the transition to adulthood timeline
  • Why it’s important, for you and for them, to gradually give up control (in whatever way is appropriate) to allow your youth to develop their skills and self-confidence.
On Zoom only. The Zoom link will be provided in an email when you register.
